Metales Pesados began its activities in 2005 associated with a ​​bookstore. Subsequently, in 2006 it was created as an independent company with the aim of meeting academic needs in the areas of aesthetics, philosophy, social sciences and literature. In the few years of operation, it has become a benchmark not only in Chile but also in Latin America.
